Vanessa Luz Vargas is a photo-based artist born and raised in Northern New Jersey. Her work explores the ideas of memory, preservation, and human connection with the natural environment. Often reflecting on her relationships with her ancestors and family history, she enjoys documenting the beauty of ephemerality.

She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from Pratt Institute in 2018.

Besides creating, she enjoys reading books on a cozy couch, having a dance break, exploring new countries, and listening to ocean waves.
